Meet The Pastor
Dan Stark began his tenure as the fifth pastor in Christ Church’s 120-year history on August 8th, 2015. He grew up in Kellogg, MN as the second youngest of five boys. He attended Luther College in Decorah, IA, graduating with a B.A. in religion and biblical languages in 2006.
He continued his education at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN where he graduated with his M.A. in Old Testament (2009) and M.Th. (2011). He completed his M.Div at Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta (2014) with an emphasis on Pastoral Care. He completed 5 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Emory University Hospital, including a yearlong chaplaincy residency. He is a Chaplain in the Air Force Reserves, and serves the base community of Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota. He currently serves as the convener of the South East Clergy Covenant Association. He is also a part of the New Generation Leadership Initiative of the United Church of Christ. The South East Conference of the UCC ordained him on June 14th, 2015 at Decatur UCC, his seminary intern site in Atlanta.
He is husband to Sonia and father to Charlotte. He enjoys working with computers, technology, writing, running, spending time with his family, and taking his dog, Cooper, for walks.
